I love the genre of classical girney, as I call it. Stories of Girls in (scary?) Wonderlands, such as Alice in wonderland, Wizard of Oz, Labyrinth, Chihiros journey. Who's in that, too and knows some more? Important for a Girney is: * The main character is a girl (5-15 years) * The girl normally lives in a caring family, but fells literally in some kind of wonderland, which is not part of this reality * the aim for the girl is to find back home (or herself, or some kind of that stuff), NOT to save a world completely, as it's done in not-girney-classical-fantasy-adventures (see: neverending story, a "borney": underestimated boy saves a fantasy-world) and to find out how good it is to be home with the loving family ("nothing like home", Oz) * there must be different "sub-levels" or sub-worlds, sub-adventures etc., implicates often classical riddles * making of new friends, which mostly are animals, things or fantasy creatures * some kind of "evil" has to be fought, as a witch(oz, chihiro), goblin(labyrinth), jabberwocky (alice) - not by fighting, but by "wisdom", "friendship", "the power that lies inside of our girl's heart". * the wonderland must be very bizarre So who's in that kind of stuff, also? Actually, I'm playing American McGee's Alice (that's really the guys name, his mother was some kind of a hippie and called him "American", the second choice was "Obsiddian" ( or so, i dont recall it exactly..), and am reading the original tales from lewis carrol.
